Wickedly Cute Halloween layout - October SOD

Welcome!

Kerstin here with a new layout inspiration for our Scrap of Darkness Halloween kit.
Something wicked (or not) this way comes :-)

Halloween can also be a fun, happy and extremely exciting celebration for kids.

I used the background paper 'Spellcast' from Pink Paislee,
a wonderful colored paper and absolutely suitable for a Halloween layout.

Have you seen this awesome spiderweb in our Main kit?! ,
wonderful and perfect as layer behind a photo.

I also worked with some cutouts from Paper House Productions - Halloween - Wicked Good Tags
some cutting dies, I love this additions, they are great for layouts too. Here can you see some Halloween cutting dies from Sizzix (Witchcraft thinlits, Feather & Ravens).

 ..if the broom fits :-)

Thanks for your visit!

Halloween Party Layout - October SOD kit!

Hi fellow scrappers!

It's Sharon here today to show you the 4th layout that I made with the wickedly gorgeous
Scraps of Darkness October, 2017, kit!

The main kit is chock full of so many spooktacular elements!!!

And so are all of the add-on kits:

Elements add-on:

Floral add-on:

Mixed Media add-on:

I have wanted to scrap a photo that I found in my stash that was taken in 2002 at Walt Disney World. It was a special trip because we had the chance to go with my entire family! The photo is of my twin sister (I know . . . she looks exactly like me!) and my daughter, Katie and niece, Gabi.  They dressed up as Lilo and Stitch for the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!

Here is my completed page:

And here are some close-ups to show you more details:

This layout was a joy to make!  I think my favorite part of the kit is the feathers!!!  (Scrapping is so easy when you have all of the right elements at your finger tips, like those included in this kit.)

I hope you take a moment to check out the Scraps of Darkness and Scraps of Elegance store and Facebook page.

Thank you, Scraps of Darkness, for making this amazing Halloween-themed kit.

Happy Scrapping everyone!

Mixed Media Monday - SOD October kit!

Hello everyone!  I have a layout to share with you today using the Scraps of Darkness October Kit, and it is titled "Picture of the Day".  This is actually a picture of me when I was a little girl.  Apparently, my mom wanted to take a picture of me after I lost my first tooth, but I would not smile.  When my mom told me the tooth fairy would be coming, I smiled and she took this picture.

I used papers from the Main Kit, the Floral Add-On, and the Elements Add-On:

The background paper is from the Main Kit, and to matte the photo, I used pieces of one of the Pink Paislee papers - Spellcast Collection.  I took the black lace from the Elements Add-On, cut it to the size I wanted it, covered it in gesso, then randomly applied some teal spray.  Here you can see that the Apricot Petaloo Burlap Blossoms really add a lot of fun to the page.

In addition to using the October Kit items, I used various elements from prior kits to complete my page.  The title is from the Prima Travelers Journal Vintage Ephemera and Stickers sheet. Also, I used Prima's Florica Gypsy Cord from a prior kit to frame the picture and add interest.

The cute butterflies are from the Prima Traveler's Journal Flowers - Over the Sea; and under the butterflies are some American Crafts POP! Microbeads in Wave.

I used Blue Fern Studios' Watermelon glitter with some glass bead gel and stencil across the page.

Hopefully this layout gave you some ideas for today!  Stop on over to the Scraps of Darkness online store to see what goodies we have.  For extra ideas and inspiration from all of the design team, check out the Scraps of Darkness blog here.

Take care and have fun creating!
