Weekend inspiration....Altered Heart Box

Good morning!
To help inspire your weekend creativity I am sharing a stunning altered heart box
from Lisa using the Scraps Of Darkness Beloved kit

Lisa started with the paper mache heart box from the Creativity Add On

She used the bottom portion of the box to create the shadowbox. She first painted the edges inside with Ranger Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence. Once it dried she painted over it in Lindy's Starburst Spray in Peony Scarlet Red.

She covered the inside front and back with BoBunny Love and Lace "You and Me" papers found in the Coordinating Paper Add On for the kit. You will find this add on sold out but we have a complete online store where you'll find all sorts of beautiful papers.

She covered the outside "wall"of the heart in Kaisercraft Ma Cherie also from the Coordinating Paper Add On.  The inside of the heart "wall" was covered in torn book pages inked in Walnut Distress Ink. She also created fringe for the entire outside of the heart using book pages.

You can see here how beautifully that Distress Paint crackles and looks amazing with the Lindy's. You can also see the fringe which is inked slightly.

A look at the inside shows the book pages on the wall.
She used a fancy zig zag scissor to cut the top edge and created some large rosette type layers for the image to sit on. She used a score board for it and punched one edge with a Martha punch. The chipboard was Blue Fern Royal Border Large. This was found in the Main Kit. You can see we have an amazing selection of BLUE FERN studios chipboard in the shop ---- HERE (including the smaller version of the Royal Border). She cut hers up, as she tends to do, using as larger wings on her image. She colored it with Lindy's same color she used to paint the box then painted on BoBunny Copper Glitter Paste and used silver pipe cleaners on the inside edge.
She used a butterfly from the Kaisercraft paper in the kit - Exquisite - from the Ma Cherie Collection.  She cut the butterfly out and dusted the wings in glitter glass and used them on her image. The stickers are from the Graphic 45 Sticker Sheet found in the kit. The Main Kit also included little wooden hearts...she painted hers in Silks Acrylic Glaze in Carmen. You can find lots of color mediums (including Silks) in our store ---- HERE.  She then covered the hearts in gel medium and dipped them in a red glitter. She also used silver glitter on the outside edge of the box.
Prima Royal Menagerie- Helena flowers and BoBunny Jewels in Tuxedo were also found in the Main kit and Floral Add On.

The back of the heart is once again covered in the same papers as the inside. She dyed the seam binding herself with the Lindy's Mist. This whole ribbon can be undone if you chose to set this box on an easel stand or hang it with "command" strips. Or it can be hung from the ribbon.

Thanks For stopping by, and we hope this gorgeous projects has inspired you!
